We appreciate your kind words and your continued advocacy. The Department of Justice has taken great effort to prepare frequently asked questions (FAQs), available on the Backpage Remission website, that address many topics of interest.
Additionally, the Department of Justice has ensured that there are live agents 12 hours a day, 5 days a week during the Backpage Remission process. We encourage you to seek these resources. The Department will monitor victim/survivor questions and feedback and update the FAQs as necessary.
Also, we applaud all your efforts in assisting survivors. The component of the Department that is spearheading the Backpage Remission process is strictly obligated to use the forfeited funds underlying the criminal and civil matters in compensating victims. We refer you to The Department’s other components, specifically the Office of Victims of Crime, for any grant opportunities.
